Hey, I'm Dan...

...an Architecture student studying at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. My passion for design started with my dad's love for mid-century modern furniture-its clean lines and purposeful forms drew me in and shaped how I see the built environment. Over time, I became increasingly fascinated by how people interact with space, not only physically but emotionally and subconsciously.

I'm interested in architectural lighting design and how light shapes our experience of space. Whether natural or artificial, light reveals form, texture, and material in ways that can elevate a project's impact. I'm curious about how lighting strategies can guide movement, define atmosphere, and enhance emotional resonance. I'd like to explore how thoughtful lighting design-especially when integrated early in the process-can become a core part of spatial storytelling.

I'm also drawn to small-scale housing and the challenge of designing within tight constraints. I want to create spaces that are compact but feel open, functional, and welcoming. I'm fascinated by clever layouts, built-in elements, and how material choices shape atmosphere. I hope to work on projects that feel warm, intentional, and tailored to human use. Publications like Never Too Small inspire me with projects that push the spatial envelope and prove that creativity thrives within limits.

Beyond architecture, I love to travel and experience how culture shapes the built environment. Seeing how people interact with space around the world constantly inspires my approach to design, pushing me beyond aesthetics toward deeper, more meaningful connections between people and place.
